Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt, and toe of frog,
Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg, and owlet's wing,—
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

The character.

Name: Bellatrix Medea Black
PB: (provide link to icons/pictures) Eva Green, circa Dreamers and Kingdom of Heaven: (1) (2) and the icons in this journal
Birthday: 21 January, 1954
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Quidditch Position: When in school, she was a chaser, primarily for her skills on a broom. Bellatrix was never much of a team player and continuously marked on her disapproving manuevers.

What is your character's house? Why was he/she sorted there? How does he/she feel about the other houses? Discuss your character's experience with the sorting hat.
Hogwarts is the essence of Bellatrix's pride. The school embodies everything she aspires to be, magical and educated. Upon her first night, her name was called and with a wicked grin placed slyly on her lips, she sat upon the stool. The hat lowered hesitantly upon her head, but the worn leather had barely even scraped over her hair when it barked out "Slytherin!" The other houses? What other houses? You mean the ones for weaker witches? No, no. Those don't even get a second's consideration from Bellatrix. There is only one ideal leader and that is Salazar Slytherin. It may have been family upbringing or her magical prowess but most know the hat had a glimpse of foresight. Wicked was more than just a grin she favoured.

Tell us about your character's history using each of the following (please use paragraphs filled with detail):

Birthplace.
Bath, England is a land of beautiful scenery and gorgeous Roman ruins. Without being overcrowded, the Black Manor is a perfect spot hidden back in a wooded lot. Far from Muggle eyes. Bellatrix was born in a spare room on the second floor, after twenty-three hours of pure agony. Cygnus fondly recalls the story as the night Satan abandoned his perch in Hell to jump into the realm of men and laugh unending at Druella Black and the daemon that is her first child. It limits her world view from an early age, giving her limited interaction with muggles and therefore, creating much more disgust when she did come upon them. Her higher class gives her accent a more proper flair, though she has her (many) moments of obscenities.
Family relationships.
Family is a source of pride to Bellatrix. Her name represents the purity of her blood and the status of her class. It helps her hold her chin high and her expression chastising, but there are few in her family that help withhold this reputation. She realises how many cuts have been made to the tapestry tree and each one of those burned names signify another lost soul. She has adoration from her father, negligence from her mother, abandonment from Andromeda and an overprotective nature towards Narcissa. Despite her drive to ensure Narcissa never strays as Andromeda had, this does not make her necessarily close to the youngest. Bellatrix's pride leaves her with little mind to the concerns of others. Sirius Black, her cousin, is a disgrace which she pays little mind to. Another scar on the family that only pushes her to an eerie need to rid the planet of filth. Much as she does with Narcissa, she protects Regulus from following the path of his rogue brother or so she thinks, in that twisted mind of hers. Bellatrix couldn't possibly fathom it would only push them further away.
Childhood.
Bellatrix was born the oldest daughter to Cygnus Black and his wife Druella Rosier on 21 January of 1951. The couple were given two other daughters, Narcissa and Andromeda, but none would amount the pride Bellatrix gave her father. At a young age, she was fascinated by the world in which she lived. Everything about her magical blood brought life a sort of vigorous exploration. She was sparked with a insatiable thirst for spells, curses, history and even the pride that surrounded the Black family. Her childhood games were to toy with both her sisters at whatever cost. Not in a sense of pranks because pranks suggested that neither girl knew of their origin. Narcissa and Andromeda knew their sister's antics, almost looking at her as a bully. Unfortunately for them, she was praised for the behaviour. Her father saw it as drive and unfortunate for him, never learned to say no.
First magical sign.
Mothers are wicked creatures, always doting upon the youngest and most fair. Blaming Bellatrix for things such as another dead house elf or spilled pumpkin juice. It was such an instance that infuriated Bellatrix more than her little constitution could hold. Druella discovered an overturned goblet that had seemed abandoned for more than a day, naturally leaving a disgusting stain on one of her finer silk rugs. Six-year-old Bellatrix was the first subject, however she had been out the previous day with her father on a trip to London. The youngest most likely knocked it over in one of her screaming fits of youth and obliviousness, but Bellatrix was sent directly to her room. Before abandoning the parlour for privacy, her glare set so hard upon Druella that it was only a matter of minutes before her hair burst into flames. Bellatrix still feels no remorse for such a wicked turn of unintended events, but luckily for Druella there was no damage other than mental.
Previous years at Hogwarts.
The taunting stopped, however, when the oldest sister received her Hogwarts letter and was later sorted into the house of Slytherin. She had been accepted at last by the wizarding community and no longer felt the need to prove her dominance over the younger two. Until the other two attended the school, she remained out of contact with them. Rarely even visiting home except for summer holiday. Hogwarts held a limitless amount of knowledge and she spent most of her time studying its history. It fed into her pure-blood mania. She joined the Slytherin quidditch team as chaser and proved the most ruthless of the squad. She favoured most the history of magic and studied deep on the efforts of such wizarding greats as Grindelwald and Salazar Slytherin. Floating by with almost perfect marks on both her OWL and NEWT exams, it was obvious who the favourite daughter was.

When her second sister joined the house and befriended a muggleborn named Ted Tonks, the competition began again. Not only were their parents heartbroken, but Bellatrix felt she, above anyone else, was the only one to save her sister. She spent as much time as she could, playing the best friend and helping her with magical history. She even slipped Andromeda random notes and pamphlets that promoted the need for a continued pure blood. Rumour perked up during her last few years at the school about a revolution. With the promise of returning wizarding power to the pureblood families, Bellatrix had even more drive than ever to become the strongest witch she could. If this return to traditional ways pulled through, she could help inspire Andromeda and the rest of the world. Power could, after all, fall into her hands.

Anything else you feel we should know about this character. (Milestones, life-changing events, honors, awards, etc.)

Upon graduation, she threw herself at the mercy of one who called himself Lord. He was glorious, powerful, bold and gave her stomach a particular tingle. Not out of lust, but fear. And she loved it. She thrived upon it. Every word he spoke and every charm that flew from his beautifully crafted wand, it was pure lust. For several years her heart belonged to Lord Voldemort, answering every call and summons with the utmost of loyalty. Never once did she appear to be unwilling. There was no need for a imperious curse here.

Describe your character using the following (again, use detail):

Physical Appearance.
Never, ever is she seen in muggle fashion. Bellatrix prefers style of a darker sense, something today might be remarked as gothic but rarely so. Her dresses always reflect a time before her existence whether its with a cameo broach or bustle and corset. Yet perfectly slimmed and shortened for her physical lifestyle. Her hair is rarely brushed, which leaves it in curls down her back. Her features are sharp and chiselled like a medieval character, especially the pale behind her eyes. This is what gives her the sunken in quality after Azkaban. Skin is pale and untouched by the sun, a quality she appreciates more than anything for she considers her skin to be as perfect as porcelain. Her beauty is strangely captivating, whereas her sister Narcissa is visually stunning in every sense of the word, Bellatrix embodies the sort of exotic siren not even Odysseus could refuse without physical confinement.
Greatest aspiration.
Biggest pet peeve.
Animals. Bellatrix hates elves and the way she disposes of them is a tell-tale sign. Rats, dogs, werewolves - they all remind her of the disgusting lives they lead that only try to be as beautiful and perfect as a witch. Mudbloods are on the same level of these creatures. Halfbloods have some life to them and treacherous Purebloods, oh those are her favourite. One day, she'll have her grandfather's knife at the throat of that rogue of a sister. One day.
A secret.
In her words, "Rodolphus Lestrange is fucking gorgeous," but that's a bit superficial and since he's the key to lock her cage, it'll be a long time before that is released. Also, Bellatrix is a virgin. She doesn't speak about it nor does she flaunt herself about like some tart. Her mind is focused on other things and since she's upholding tradition, why wouldn't she uphold herself in the process?
Wand.
Walnut, 12 3/4", Dragon Heartstring, fearfully donned as "unyielding"
Patronus.
The black jaguar, one of the most deadliest killers for mankind in the animal kingdom. Such a fitting mascot because the jaguar is typically inbred. Not to mention agile, beautiful, haughty & dominant. If that isn't Bellatrix in a nutshell, what is?
Boggart.
What Bellatrix fears most is her loss of magic. A muggle Bellatrix goes completely against everything she represents.
General personality.
Ever heard of The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black? Of course you have, who hasn't? Think of those two descriptors: noble and ancient. Applying them to a most proud member of the Black house is simple. Although her qualities may not be noble in the sense of a Gryffindor, perhaps, but for a Slytherin, it's perfection. What Bellatrix sees as her strength, another may see as her weakness. Her primary weakness is, however, the fact that she believes to have none. Her family is just a vessel for which she was raised, it has no true value and if betrayed their Noble Name, easily disposed. The ancient quality, for Bellatrix, is testimony of their purity. If a family can stand against time and remain pure, naturally with pruning here and there, their heritage is far better than any other wizarding family. Blood seems to be more than a fascination for Bellatrix, hence her reason for toting around a knife. The woman has a wand and yet employs the knife for one reason, it's ability to shed blood. She sees it as a disgrace to a witch or wizard if sliced with her particular weapon, for it rids them of the one thing that makes them worthy in this world. Bellatrix is most loyal with an absurd amount of ambition that makes her nearly insane, for the lengths she'll go to for her cause are unending. She lusts most for power and being the most impressive witch of all time, through Voldemort she sees this as a possibility. At his side and always true, she believes he will share with her his victory over the wizarding world. Another weakness, for Voldemort shares nothing.

How do you plan to develop your character in game?
Her marriage to Rodolphus has not yet unfolded. Cygnus will make him a deal, although Rodolphus needs little convincing, in order to sell away his eldest to get his youngest free to the numerous offers she's sure to receive. This, undoubtedly, will destroy Bellatrix until she realises that Rodolphus's intentions are not as everyone else perceives.

Also, she will be heavily involved in recruitment. Particularly with Regulus, while pushing the war to a closer date.

Note Oh and in case you're wondering, Bellatrix has the worst case of penis envy. Ever. Just so you don't think I'm trying to make her beyond belief. I'm very aware that she's weak because of all of these so-called great points. If a muggle therapist were to diagnose her, she'd be a manic bipolar with paranoid schizophrenic tendencies. That's the effects of incest, for ya!
The goods.

Her family is just a vessel for which she was raised, it has no true value and if betrayed their Noble Name, easily disposed. When loyal and true, her mask of complete admiration and unadulterated love is hard to decipher as false. The woman has a wand and yet employs the knife for one reason, its ability to shed blood. She lusts most for power and being the most impressive witch of all time, through Voldemort she sees this as a possibility. At his side and always true, she believes he will share with her his victory over the wizarding world. Another weakness, for Voldemort shares nothing. After her sister's betrayal, Bellatrix has had a certain amount of trouble with the concept of trust. The girls were never particularly close, by means of any other band of sisters, but the dishonour and disregard Andromeda brought to the kitchen table with her announcement of marrying Ted Tonks proved to Bellatrix where her loyalties lied. Strictly with the theory of hurt before being hurt, the oldest sister lashed out and made the disowning process far more uglier than it needed to be. Now she has only put her faith in one person, Lord Voldemort, for he would never betray his own cause.

History: Bellatrix was born the oldest daughter to Cygnus Black and his wife Druella Rosier on 1 December of 1959. Her father saw it as drive and as something he would later regret, never learned to say no. Games also included Bellatrix starring role as the Queen, forcing her sisters in simple acts of servitude like dancing or singing though neither girl was fond of this game and longed for Queendom themselves. Despite her bossy demeanour, her love for her sisters was kept deep within her own solitude. In some protective, older sister fashion, she saw if she were to heed control over them it was a way to shield them from the ugliness seeping into their once pure existence. It stopped, however, when the oldest sister received her Hogwarts letter and was later sorted into the house of Slytherin. She had been accepted at last by the wizarding community and no longer felt the need to prove her dominance over the younger two. Until the other two attended the school, she remained out of contact with them. Rarely even visiting home except for summer holiday. She favoured most the history of magic and studied deep on the efforts of such wizarding greats as Grindelwald and Salazar Slytherin. Floating by with almost perfect marks on both her OWL and NEWT exams, it was obvious where greatness lied. Bellatrix was rewarded with the position of Prefect in her sixth year and power was slowly seeping into her grasp. With the promise of returning wizarding power to the pureblood families, Bellatrix had even more drive than ever to become the strongest witch she could. If this return to traditional ways pulled through, she could help inspire Andromeda and the rest of the world. Power could, after all, fall into her hands. With the presence of her cousins, Bellatrix was granted a meeting with he who called himself Lord. The fear he encouraged in her was something she could not relinquish, but thrived on the feeling it gave her. She was quiet and polite before him in that one-time meeting, but never ceased to stop braggart conversation about the day she met Lord Voldemort. Throughout most of her childhood, she had maintained a steady relationship with the oldest son of the Lestrange household, Rodolphus. He was attractive, as all the other girls constantly reminded her, but it wasn't his looks that kept her at his side. He was the only person she could share her ugliest secret with. Not even Narcissa, who was quickly the favoured sister of the two, knew her lust for Killing. Blood, perhaps, for at the sight of the crimson thickened liquid caught every unending stare, but killing was shared only with Rodolphus. He introduced her to the thrill of feeling the heartbeat of a stray, mixed mutt fade out of her palm with the slice of a blade, just like it were a mudblood. It started with insects. Watching spiders squirm without their eighth appendage then grew to birds, struggling for breath without their second wing and then came the best gift of all, a House Elf. While Rodolphus longed for its death, Bellatrix wanted the torture. The thing twisted and turned, struggling to fight back and yet there she remained, inflicting pang after pang with the wickedest of grins plastered on her lips. She was in love. She knew how he looked at her, for Narcissa never allowed her to forget she held such favour from a Lestrange, but it never seemed to click. Their time spent together ensured their future marriage and yet, still, she remained to her own individual path. She was not a typical woman, after all, and she never would be. He chased after other girls, while Bellatrix kept to the notion that while there may have been others, there was only ever one Bellatrix Black.

Identifying features/marks: Her mess of black hair, rarely ever tamed. Death Mark tattoo on inside of her left arm, featuring a winding snake and a skull.
